![]() ![]() ![]() On one of my PC's that Wake Source is reported as "Device-ACPI Alarm" even though the alarm is disabled in the BIOS. If you select that Event the Window down below should list the Wake Source It will be reported as a Power-Troubleshooter Source with an Event ID of 1. You should be able to see this under the Windows Logs > System Events. Can you look in the Event Viewer to determine what the system is reporting as the Wake Reason? I'm assuming that the PC is actually waking up at the scheduled time for your backup task. OK then I'm going to suggest something else as I'm seeing something similar and consistent on one of my PC's and did develop a workaround. The annoying thing is that its inconsistent so it makes it hard to compensate for it. There's definitely something amiss with the Wake from sleep behaviour both on Windows 11 and Windows 10 21H2. Try setting the option under the Settings tab for your scheduled task to enable "Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed" and see if that helps. The other thing I've noticed at times is that when the PC is woken then the event viewer will show events where the system clock is synchronizing with the hardware clock and this sometimes results in the time being set to a point after the scheduled run time so the task does not run. (It should go back to sleep 120 seconds after completion of the scheduled task). The schedule task will run but the PC will not go back to sleep until the expiration of the idle time sleep setting. I've also noticed that if the PC goes to sleep before midnight and the scheduled task wakes the PC after midnight that the wake is considered a manual wake and the computer's display, if connected, will be activated. ![]() Sometimes the task will wake the PC as it should and everything works but other times the PC is woken up but the reason for the wake in the Event Viewer will show a different reason. I've been noticing some strange behaviour with Waking the PC from a scheduled task. ![]()
